Back in 1986 Robert A. McLaughlin moved his newly formed LSI Computer business to 29-33 Victoria Road, Widnes, converting a derelict property into offices and showrooms. After 5 years of growth and expansion, Ashley House was opened – a much larger refurbishment and development incorporating 35-37 Victoria Road. LSI (NW) now occupied just under half of this 10,000 sq ft building! A tenant was found for the rest of the space and within a few months wanted to take the whole building, so Bob went out and bought another derelict building and in 1992 moved LSI into Tannery Court – a 30,000 sq ft office complex – this time there was over 20,000 sq ft to fill which was done within the planned 18 months!
And so over the next 5 years both LSI Computers and RAM Properties expanded and grew. LSI with up to nearly 60 staff and RAM Properties with Dallam Court – a 40,000 sq ft modern building – our flagship property to this day!
By 2000 LSI had been sold and Bob focussed on RAM Properties Ltd and The Boultings – another derelict site to 10,000 sq ft modern office was on stream. More recently two further very poor buildings on Bewsey Street/Dallam Lane were converted to Ribban Court, our latest 20,000 sq ft hi-tech office complex during 2013/14.
Now in 2015 we celebrate 25 years as RAM Properties with all our buildings still going strong and offering over 100,000 sq ft of quality offices at affordable prices. Bob is still around but his two sons Andy and Richard are taking care of business and now gearing up for taking the company to another level for a next generation! They have both now been involved for over 5 years and we are once again on the acquisition trail- the future’s looking good for the next 25 years with them at the helm!
